A New Home

I thought it would be appropriate to start off the new blog with a card I sent to a friend when she moved into a beautiful new home recently. New blog, new home!

My favourite stamp sets are ones that you can use for multiple occasions. I especially try to keep this in mind when ordering from the Holiday Catalogue, as it’s easy to buy lots of beautiful Christmas sets but it’s best to have things you can use all year around. The Farmhouse Christmas set (with Farmhouse Framelits) from this year’s Holiday catalogue certainly fits that brief for me, especially with the matching dies to cut out the cute elements.

This cute little farmhouse was the perfect focal point for a new home card, coloured in Stampin’ Blends in a colour palette similar to my friend’s new house.

The beautiful DSP is also from the holiday catalogue – the leaves, which remind me of the eucalypt and peppermint trees in the neighbourhood, are from the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP (my absolute favourite in this catalogue), and the Crumb Cake pinecones are from the All Is Bright DSP. Stampin’ Up paper collections are always so beautiful and versatile.

A little Festive Farmhouse Twine in Mossy Meadow and a cute banner from the ever-versatile Thoughtful Banners in the Annual Catalogue, finish off the design, mounted on a Whisper White and Blueberry Bushell base.

I love any excuse to make a card and send a card, and a new home is a pretty good excuse! Wishing the Kent Family many, many years of happiness in their beautiful family home.
