Hello and welcome to your next stop on our sparkly, shimmery, shiny blog hop this month.
When thinking about a project for this month’s “all that sparkles” theme I found that Stampin’ Up! gives you a lot of options if you like a little sparkle in your crafting. From glimmer paper, to shimmer paint, to embossing powders, to foil paper and straight up glitter in Dazzling Diamonds, there’s much to choose from. I had several ideas brewing using these options.
And then my first goodies from the upcoming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration 2019 catalogues arrived and out came the Grapefruit Grove & Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets, which are a free item you can earn when you spend $90, and I fell in crafting love. It may be pushing it a little to include these under the banner of “all that sparkles” but they are just soooooo shiny and beautiful, so I think it’s fine!
These foil sheets are amazing. At first glance, they seem pretty similar to the Copper Foil that we have in the Annual Catalogue.
But you only have to change your angle a little and it looks completely different.
This card is a super simple construction of a Basic Black base, a 3″ strip of beautiful DSP from the Share What You Love Specialty DSP collection, with a 3 1/8″ mat of the foil behind it as well, and butterflies cut from the Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets.
The Butterfly Duet Punch from the Occasions Catalogue is no doubt going to be hugely popular. Everyone loves a pretty butterfly and with the punch it couldn’t be quicker or easier to make a flutter of beautiful, shimmery, sparkly butterflies.
See how just a little angle change makes the foil completely change colour? It is absolutely stunning. It gives a simple card a lot of impact.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I need to go put in another order that will allow me to earn more of this beautiful foil paper because I think I am going to be using a lot of it! I’m pretty certain I can find some other new beauties to make up a $90 order, right??
Before you do the same, make sure you hop on over to Narelle to see her sparkly creation this month, and if you haven’t hopped along from the start then follow the links through to Kelly and Sheila as well. After all, one can never have too much sparkle!
I wish you all a sparkly, happy new year, Stampin’ friends.
