This week I’ve gone a little leftfield on my inspiration as it is the FABULOUS new tote bag that has been the source for my CASE.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on this tote bag last year when it was released to demonstrators. During the SAB period the way to get your hands on one is to join as a demo and get it as part of your starter kit.
I absolutely love the bag, so much so that I have been using it as my everyday nappy bag to lug about all the baby and kid stuff I have to take everywhere these days.
For my CASE it was the beautiful colour combination of Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Mint Macaron, and the beautiful tag on the front of the bag that inspired me to make this card.
On a base of Night of Navy I’ve used the fabulous new stitched rectangles to layer the Mint Macaron and white. There’s been a lot of talk among Australian demos about how these rectangles don’t fit our A4 sized cardstock for layering, but the simple solution is to cut your card in half as normal then just trim 0.8cm off the long side and they work perfectly.
The other elements on the front are from the Petal Passion suite which was a big hit from last year’s Occasions catalogue and ended up being in the Annual Catalogue. I’ll confess I tried to do a no line watercolouring version of the flower to look more like the one on the bag tag, but failed miserably in my attempt. I need much more colouring practice! For this one I used my trusty Stampin’ Blends. I find it very hard to go wrong colouring with them.
I couldn’t resist adding this cute little bird to the inside of the card as well. He’s one of my favorite parts of the Petal Passion suite. And I love this banner that fits this and lots of other sentiments so perfectly – it’s a lovely size and again easy to forget about when you’re looking for a sentiment banner.
Next up sharing her beautiful CASE is Shannon. Make sure you hop along and see the whole crew’s fabulous projects this week. It’s amazing how much inspiration there is from one little catalogue!
And don’t forget to play along – we love seeing your CASEd creations as well. Simply upload them to our Facebook page via this link.
