Hello adventurers! It’s wheely good to have you around this month for our team hop (no more bad puns, I promise). I hope you’ve hopped along from the fabulous Mandy and her gorgeous card, which I had a special sneak preview of as it is my birthday card from her 😛
My project for this month’s wheel themed hop is also birthday related. If it seems like I’m stretching the “wheels” theme a bit, well I’d argue that gears and wheels are pretty similar, for a start, and even without that I’m absolutely on brief since this is the invitation for my son’s upcoming tricycle themed birthday party (tricycles because it is his third birthday). This kid is obsessed with anything with wheels attached but has a particular love for his bikes.
I’ve kept the design on the front quite simple with two strips of DSP from Classic Garage (a must if you too are surrounded by car obsessed big and little boys), some red twine holding one of the gorgeous Classic Garage Metal Elements, and a Tailored Tag Punch with a sentiment from Geared Up Garage.
The cool thing is the way the tab (I’ve used the Circle Tab Punch and a 3/4″ Punch) pulls out to reveal the inside panel – you can use this for a plain piece for writing on, or, as in this example, for a printed invitation.
Probably my favourite thing in this whole suite of products are the little elements (a tiny spanner and a tiny key). So far I’ve managed to keep the toddler from discovering these because I can just see him using them to make repairs to his tiny cars.
Roll on over next to the fabulous Narelle to see what she’s made to wow us.
And just because he’s so darn cute, here’s another of Mr Sammy on his beloved “mountain bike” this time (he has two balance bikes, one for mountain biking and one for skateparks and street riding. I told you – obsessed!)
Thanks for stopping by,
