The Easter Bunny, from Fable Friends, is coming!

The theme for this blog post seems to be threes. I have three Easter cards to share with you today. I also have three excited little bunnies at home who are gearing up for The big Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. Well ok, the littlest bunny has no idea what’s going on, of course, but she’s more than enthusiastic about trying to get involved in any activity her older siblings are into. And we have two parents who are happy to have three whole days at home (work travel means we don’t get a four day weekend but we will happily take the three!)

I’m trying to get as much time as I can this weekend in my Happy Place aka the craft room. The stamp set that’s been on my desk the most this week has definitely been Fable Friends. I just can’t get enough of this adorable bunny!

If you love simple cards and a bit of colouring (and I sure do) then he’s a perfect companion for you. I started these cards by stamping the bunny in memento ink on Shimmery White cardstock, then colouring with Stampin’ Blends. I didn’t have any scheme in mind, I just picked whatever colours appealed to me, so the bunnies are coloured in a combination of Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, and Bronze, and the jackets in Highland Heather, Bermuda Bay, and Petal Pink. I then fussy cut them and chose DSP to match the colours.

This pink one is probably my favourite if the bunch. I love pink, grey, and white together, so I emphasized that with some background stamping of these dots from Beauty Abounds. The DSP layer here is only just peeking through but that’s all you need as it is a stunner of a pattern from All My Love (2019 Occasions Catalogue). This is one of those paper collections that is so much more beautiful in person than it looks in the catalogue.

For my Highland Heather bunny I stuck to simple on the DSP front by using the Highland Heather dots from the Subtles DSP. The stitched label makes it a little bit fancy, though.

The Bermuda Bay bunny is paired with two Coastal Cabana patterns from the Tea Room DSP collection (2018-19 Annual Catalogue). Although this is my least favourite DSP from the catalogue there are a few patterns that are just gorgeous and of course anything in Bermuda Bay or Coastal Cabana gets my tick of approval.

These three pretty bunnies have all hopped off to friends already with some early Easter gifts (read: chocolate!!!) Although I’ll miss them, like all good bunnies there seem to be plenty more where they came from and I’ll have lots more of them hopping across my desk soon.

 Thanks for stopping by,
