Up and Away for a Team Meeting

Last weekend we had our team meeting. I’m lucky enough to belong to an awesome team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators – shout out to my Paper Adventures teamies – and even though most of them live about two hours away from me, I try to get to our meetings as often as I can. Because what’s better than friends, crafting, and maybe a little cake??

We always do a make and take project at the meeting and also swaps. I love the little collection of cards I end up with from this. You get to see lots of different products, often ones you don’t have, in person, and each of our teamies has their own style so it’s fun to see what they come up with.

I chose to combine some new goodies and old/current goodies for my swaps this time.

My card uses the beautiful Best Route DSP from the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. These map patterns are my favourite – I have a thing for maps, I have a collection of antique maps and am a sucker for anything covered in old maps in particular. Cutting into them has been a struggle for me but I am really trying to get over my fear of chopping up pretty paper!

I thought the map theme complimented the new Above the Clouds balloon stamp that I’ve used here – punched out with the new Hot Air Balloon punch in the upcoming 2019-20 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

These super cute balloon, stamped in Mango Melody on Whisper White, were so fast and easy to stamp and punch out. I love me a punch!

The ‘Let’s Celebrate You’ sentiment, on a Stitched Rectangle of Whisper White, is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, an Occasions 2019 set which is carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue (yay, because it is awesome!). The base colours of Blueberry Bushel and Gray Granite are drawn from the Best Route DSP colours. Now that I’ve overcome my fear of chopping this paper up I’m sure I will be using more of it because the colours and patterns are especially good for those tricky masculine cards.

I love this time of the Stampin’ Up! year where there are both old favourites and new goodies to combine into awesomeness. Sometimes they seem almost made for each other, and it’s exciting getting to see what will likely become new favourites play so nicely with old favourites.

Thanks for stopping by,
