CASE-ing the Catty #261 Week 2 – More Sale-A-Bration Goodness

CTC Header

Happy Australia Day, CTC fans! I hope, if you are an Aussie reader, you’ve had some time today to enjoy this beautiful country of ours this weekend.

This is our second week CASE-ing the Sale-A-Bration catalogue for 2020. This week I’ve picked my favourite stamp set from the catty, The Gang’s All Meer. I let out a squeal when I first saw this. I LOVE Meerkats (remember that docu series Meerkat Manor?) and always make my kids spend lots of time looking at them when we go to the zoo. Last visit we saw this little guy with a bandage on his arm and isn’t he just the cutest??

I promise no meerkats were harmed in the making of these cards, though.

The cards I have to share with you this evening were inspired by the fabulous creation in the SAB catty with all that masking and stamping.

While I love this technique, ain’t nobody got the time or the patience around here to do that, lol. So I just went with a single stamping and some ink blending (my favourite fast way to add colour and interest to a card).

I made this card just before Christmas after being inspired by the catty card. I did take the time with this one to colour the meerkats with Stampin’ Blends.

The ink base is Mint Macaron and the sentiments are white heat embossed onto Pretty Peacock card.

My next two cards were even faster to make and a CASE of my own Christmas meerkat card.

This first one features a base of Mango Melody. I was intending to colour the Meerkats again but I actually really liked the way it looked just stamped and left uncoloured (were I to do this again I would stamp them in a brown colour instead, though, knowing I was going to leave them otherwise uncoloured).

I masked off the bottom part of the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same set and white heat embossed that then added the ‘from all of us’ in Memento ink under that. The banners were cut with the mini trimmer, which is truly spectacular at cutting small strips of card, and the flags were cut in by hand.

The second birthday version is on a base of Rococo Rose. I followed the exact same method and layout as the first card.

On both cards, I splattered some Champagne Shimmer Paint for a little sparkle and interest. Because you ALWAYS need a little sparkle and interest.

And in keeping with my resolution to always finish the inside and make a matching envelop for my cars this year, I have dutifully done that with some simple stamping here.

Keep on sharing your amazing creations with us as well. Each challenge runs for two weeks now so there’s still another week to upload your SAB inspired projects.
