Paper Adventures CASE Pootles

Hello, paper adventure blog hop hoppers! Happy to have you stopping here on this Friday night. It has been A WEEK, too much weirdness for my liking, so let’s ignore all of that for a while, shall we? And just focus on some pretty paper and stamps. After all, there is no therapy quite like crafty therapy.

I may also have just ordered another Big Brown Box of therapy supplies as well. You know, just in case.

In the meantime, we have this great card to CASE from Sam Hammond Donald aka Pootles, who joins us as our guest designer this month (and I think it’s safe to say that we are all huge fans of hers and are very honoured to have her join us).

I love the clean simplicity of this design, the use of the DSP as a large background, and the offset sentiment panel. These are the elements I have carried over to my cards.

My first card also uses DSP from the Best Dressed collection, but I’ve picked a spot rather than a stripe.

I’ve offset the large piece of spotty DSP slightly to one side for a bit of interest. The base is Lovely Lipstick cardstock.

For the focal element I fussy cut this cute little perfume bottle from the DSP (this is actually the other side of the pink & purple stripe). I layered it on a heart and some banners cut from the stripe plus a Vellum circle.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and is white heat embossed on Night of Navy.

For my second version, I used one of my very most favourite patterns of DSP from the Annual Catalogue, this one from Follow Your Art. It’s a fun play on the stripe that Sam used in her card. To soften it a little I laid a panel of vellum over the top as well.

Instead of a square I went with a stitched circle, some fussy cut pens also from the Follow Your Art DSP (all this fussy cutting – there must be something wrong with me!), and a gold foil “hooray” from Well Written.

So many possibilities with this layout and the cards were both really quick to whip up. I can’t wait to see what everyone else in the team has done, so hop on over with me to Mandy next to see what fabulous creation she has come up with.

Thanks for stopping by,

  4. You have used two stamp sets I love here Siobhan. I am loving the dressed to impress stamp set for Mother’s day cards. So feminine and pretty! Good job with the fussy cutting lol, I like the vellum overlay. Lovely cards using this layout. Mandy x
