What’s up, crafty people? So glad you could join me here on this totally-normal-nothing-extraordinary-happening-in-the-world-everyone-is-just-going-about-their-business week, right?
Time to put some of that at home time to good use and get your crafty therapy in. This week the CTC Crew is having another look at the second Sale-A-Bration release catalogue for 2020.
The card that took my fancy this week is this delightful little yellow number to the right of this image from page 8. I liked the tall size, the white floral band, and the sentiment label. I’ve very much put my own spin on it, but I hope you can see where the inspiration came from!
Being me I had to make it with a Whisper White base, so I folded an 8 1/4″ square in half to make a DL sized card.
For the flowers I used the Forever Blossoms stamps and Cherry Blossom Dies to create a bunch of little flowers in Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Merry Merlot, and Daffodil Delight. I stamped each in the ink colour and then used a Blender Pen and a little more ink to fill in the petals and soften the stamped lines. If I had the time, skill, or patience for no-line water colouring this would be a perfect time to do that. But I do not!
I arranged the cut flowers around this large label from last year’s Share What You Love embellishment kit, stamped with this greeting from the So Sentimental stamps. I added in some butterflies stamped in Gray Granite with Butterfly Gala stamps and punched out with the Butterfly Punch. The die-cut leaves are stamped in Old Olive using the Forever Blossoms stamps and Cherry Blossom dies again.
To add a little interest to the background I stamped some flourishes and splatters from Beauty Abounds in Gray Granite and Old Olive. A piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder adds just a little more interest and texture to the layers.
This card was a total departure from my usual style for me, but it’s great fun to do that once in a while.
If you’re sensibly filling in some of your isolation time with extra crafting then make sure you give the CASE-ing the Catty challenge a go this week and upload your creation to our Facebook wall.
And do you know what the perfect social distancing activity is? Following along on a blog hop, getting lots of inspiration from some talented crafters, and leaving some comments as you go along. And you’re in luck because I have the perfect one for you right here!! Next up is Michelle, hop on over to her beautiful card and make sure you check out the rest of the crew as well.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone. Keep calm and stamp on!
Thanks for stopping by,
