Happy Sunday, CTC fans. I hope you’ve all made it through this week safe and healthy. I’m very happy to have you here this evening for some CASE-ing the Catty goodness. More than ever before I am so happy to be a part of an amazing community of crafty friends so that while we might be physically distant we certainly don’t have to be socially isolated.
The plan for this week was to make an Easter card using this sketch.
I’m afraid though that I have gone off the reservation a bit and made a non-Easter card. Now more than ever it seems that plans must be subject to change! I loved the sketch for inspiration but what I really wanted to do this week was to make and send out a bunch of happy hugs in the mail.
In my therapy box that arrived this week (as I call my Stampin’ Up! orders) was the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper from the coordination product release that ends on the 31st of March. If you don’t already have this paper then drop everything and go order it now. You don’t even need to have the coordinating punches. I’ll be ordering another pack tomorrow because I just LOVE it – this rainbow stripe, in particular, I don’t think I can get enough of.
The happy stripes were just perfect for some happy mail. I used a large oval die to cut an oval shape from the front cover of a Whisper White card base and stuck a piece of the striped DSP behind it.
To continue the rainbow theme I used some similar colour inks to make a DIY rainbow ink pad with some baby wipes and stamped this appropriate sentiment and butterfly from the Positive Thoughts stamp set. The cute little hearts are from the Pleased As Punch DSP.
Even the reverse side of the striped DSP on the inside of the card makes me happy.
The hearts on the front of the cards are from the Pleased as Punch DSP as well. I fussy cut them as I don’t have the punch, but it’s such a simple shape to fussy cut even I could manage it! Also on the front is a banner of So Very Vellum DSP from the second Sale-A-Bration release. This is another must-have for your DSP stash – add it to your Pleased As Punch order!!
Making these really cheered me up and I’m sending out a rainbow of happiness to a few friends who I know could do with a hug in the mail.
If you’re using some of your quality quarantine time to get your crafting therapy in (which I highly recommend) then please make something using our sketch this week and upload it onto the CTC Facebook wall. Like I said, in these strange times there’s no better time than to reach out to your online communities for connection.
Next up is Julia with a beautiful Easter card for us.
Thanks for stopping by.
WASH YOUR HANDS AND CRAFT ON.
🙂
Siobhan.
