Sunday greetings, crafty friends. It has been a mad weekend around here. It is my little man’s birthday next Sunday – Easter Sunday, which isn’t great timing for a big birthday bash. So we had his (Star Wars themed) party today instead. The kids also had another party in the morning, and we are trying to get organised for the upcoming week, which involves Easter, the start of school holidays, and a spot of house painting while we’re at it. Crazy times!
I’ll enjoy putting my feet up for a bit tonight and checking out this week’s CASE-ing the Catty Sunday Challenge. This week we are creating Easter themed projects.
There aren’t actually very many Easter themed products or projects to CASE in either current catalogue. They are there, but there’s not a lot of them. I guess Easter isn’t a big card giving holiday? So for this challenge I instead decided to CASE a non-Easter themed example and turn it into an Easter card. This was the card that took my fancy, at the top of page 43 in the Stampin’ Up! 2021 January-June Mini Catalogue.
I thought the colours and the centre oval die cut lent themselves to an Easter creation, and with that I came up with this.
The card is very simple to make. On the front of a base card in Bumblebee I die cut an oval window using one of the Layering Oval Dies. I then stamped the beautiful sunflowers from Jar of Flowers in Bumblebee ink onto the card front.
On a white background I stamped and coloured the gorgeous lamb from Springtime Joy and adhered this behind the oval cut out.
For the sentiment I had to go digging for something to fit on the strip I had planned and something appropriate. I really must pay more attention next year and invest in a set or two with good Easter sentiments (the problem for us in the Southern Hemisphere is that so many Easter sets are also Spring themed and it is Autumn for us). I turned, as I do so often, to Itty Bitty Greetings, and repeat stamped the little Easter Blessings and white heat embossed it on a strip of Seaside Spray.
Next up on the hop this week is Peta with her beautiful eggy card. Hop on over with me to check out her post.
And don’t forget to join in the challenge this week (you have a whole long weekend this time to get your craft on!) and share with us your Easter CASE over on the CASE-ing the Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook page.
Thanks for stopping by,
