CASE-ing the Catty #267 – Flowers inspired by Ornate Garden

CTC Header

Happy Sunday, everyone, and Happy Easter. I hope you’ve all had your fill of chocolate by now and are enjoying hopping along with this week’s CASE-ing the Catty crew blog hop.

This week we are taking inspiration from the flowers of the new Ornate Garden Suite, which is an early release from the forthcoming 2020-21 Annual Catalogue. I haven’t (yet) indulged in this suite, but it did remind me of my neglected Daisy Punch and Daisy Delight stamp set, from the current Annual Catalogue.

This card is actually pretty simple. On a Thick Whisper White card base, I have used Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Pretty Peacock inks to stamp some leaves (the leaves are from Painted Harvest). I then liberally splattered the whole card with gold, Rococo Rose, and Early Espresso inks.

For the daisy, I stamped the image in black then coloured it with some Stampin’ Blends. If you’ve ever looked at daisies they often have these colour graduations with quite bright colours towards the centre and pale tips. Last Spring I took a heap of photos of daisies, I was always looking for them and looking at their colours. I had this idea to do colour a whole heap of these punched daisies based on the colours I had seen, but I never found the time. Maybe that’s a project that needs to go back on the to-do list?

To finish off the card I went with my favourite black sentiment strip technique with ‘Time To Celebrate’ from Itty Bitty Birthdays in gold embossing. The daisy is lifted up on Dimensionals. It is really such a simple card but was plenty of fun to create.
