Sharing Sunshine – Thank You for Your Care Medicine Bottles

It’s been a happy week here at Hightrees House as I was very lucky to have a Big Brown Box of new Stampin’ Up! goodies arrive on my doorstep. This was part of my Mother’s Day present, chosen and ordered by Miss Heather. She did a great job picking out some new fabulousness from the pre-order list for the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue (she may have had a few hints directed her way…)

The first thing I’m always most excited to get my hands on with a new Annual Catalogue is the new In Colors. Who doesn’t love a new rainbow of card and ink and paper and ribbon to add to their collection?? I’ll have more to say about the new additions in a later blog post.

The second thing I’m usually most excited about is a punch bundle. I love a good punch. They make creating so quick and easy. Punch bundles are also great value, the kind of thing that is easy to talk yourself into adding to an order, right?? So I was thrilled to find the Jar of Flowers bundle at the top of my mystery box (good work, Heather!). The stamp set is gorgeous, such beautiful images for colouring and so many possibilities – I can’t wait to see the flood of inspiring projects that will be filling my Pinterest and Facebook feeds over the next few weeks. And the jar punch is so super cute.

One of the things I most love about punches is their versatility, the ability to use them to make more than what they are specifically for, if you know what I mean. Which is probably why my mind looked at the little jars I first punched out and went to medicine bottles. Combining this with some images and a sentiment from the Share Sunshine digital release, I came up with this cute card.

The base card is the gorgeous new Misty Moonlight. Heather has already declared this to be her favourite and there’s a good chance it will be mine as well. Such a pretty blue. Looks fabulous teamed with lots of crisp Whisper White – my next layer is WW embossed with the new Old World Paper 3D embossing folder which is also destined to be a favourite. Such gorgeous texture, and I am finding these new SU! folders emboss so beautifully.

My medicine bottles are of course made with the Jar Punch. I punched the jars out from Whisper White CS then just the top/lid part from Silver Foil. The crosses are from Share Sunshine and I die cut them out with the smallest of the circle dies.

The sentiment from Share Sunshine was cut with a Stitched Rectangle die and popped up on dimensionals. There’s just a little vellum strip behind the bottles to make them stand out better, and the final touch is a white twine bow (oh white baker’s twine, why must you retire??).

This card was quick and fun to make and I’m so glad it turned out in real life just like it was in my head. I’m sure there are lots of clever people out there that will come up with all sorts of alternative uses for the jar punch, and I can’t wait to see that creativity unleashed.

Thanks for stopping by,

Keep calm, craft on, and wash your hands.
