Sunday greetings, Crafty friends! How is your Christmas crafting coming along? I’m feeling suspiciously on target to get everything done. Which means something will happen this week to derail it all and leave me a stressed-out mess the week before Christmas, no doubt. ‘Tis the season! All this magic making is a lot of work, you know (but totally worth it).
If you’re looking for some inspiration for some more 3D crafting goodies then this week’s CASE-ing the Catty crew has you covered!
We’ve almost made it to the end of the year. Christmas is coming, the end of 2020 is nigh, and I think I can safely say we are all ready to put this one behind us. For my 3D project I’ve taken some inspiration from these cute candy cane holders on page 42 of the Stampin’ Up! 2020 Holiday Mini Catalogue and made some simple but really effective cards that double as holders for a decoration I made for my team mates for our Christmas gathering last week.
My rule for Christmas crafting – especially for anything I’m doing in bulk – is to keep it simple but effective. These cards hit the nail on the head for me.
The cards are just a standard base in Poppy Parade, a mat layer of Crumb Cake card, and then a top layer of DSP – I used patterns from the ‘Tis The Season, Poinsettia Place, and Gilded Autumn collections.
I cut a slit into the DSP layer so that I could slip my decorations in. The decorations are a 75mm acrylic bauble shape which I applied a vinyl “I Survived 2020” sentiment to.
The decorations are a nice little keepsake from this year, and something that will give me – and hopefully my teamies – a giggle for years to come.
I know there’s a few weeks to go yet, but I do feel like we all deserve some accolades for surviving this year.
Next up on the crew hop is Julia, who was actually first up this week, so if you didn’t start there then make sure you hop back to her and along until you have seen all the fabulous crew projects.
Thanks for stopping by,
