CASE-ing the Catty #253

CTC Header

Welcome back, CASE-rs, gather around and settle in for your next step in tonight’s CASE-ing the Catty Sunday Challenge Crew Blog Hop. This week we are CASE-ing projects from pages 46-51 of the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue.

My choice of CASE this week was this blue and green apple card in the image below, from page 49. It uses the Harvest Hellos bundle which I have on its way to me at the moment and I’ll be CASE-ing these projects for end of the school year gifts.

In the meantime, I’ve CASEd this card layout to add some much needed masculine birthday cards to my stash, using the Stitched Stars.

My first card uses the blue and green colour scheme of the catty example. The base card is Balmy Blue and the stars are Granny Apple Green. I drew some highlights on the stars with a white gel pen for a little extra detail.

The second card is in Gray Granite and Mango Melody.

And the third version is in Crumb Cake and Merry Merlot.

Since I wanted these cards to be more “masculine” I kept them pretty simple. There is a single mat layer of cardstock in the same colour as the base card but put through the Subtle Embossing Folder for some texture and interest. The vellum panels on each card were also run through this embossing folder. I love the way it makes the vellum look milky and adds just a little more texture without being distracting.

The sentiment banners are white heat embossed with this Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Birthdays. This set has lots of great birthday sentiments in it but I’ve certainly been getting  a lot of use out of this particular one.

And for a final touch of bling – without going overboard – I’ve used a few of the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. These are one of those hidden in the catalogue and easy to overlook but you really must have items.

These cards are really very simple and were quick and easy to make with the repeating elements. The most time consuming part was choosing the colours! Let me know in the comments below which combo is your favourite.

As always we would love to see your CASEd creation as well. CASE something from pages 46-51 and upload it to the Facebook wall by Monday 11 November.
